Training & Placement

Training the students for different skill set is an important requirement. Thrust is being given imparting training to the students by the expert trainers at different stages of their academic carrier. In the first year, the students are exposed to spoken English and in second year they are given training in computer skill like C, C++. In the 3rd & 4th year students are given training in their relevant discipline as per the need and requirement. The training is imparted in GSM technology,. Net, Java and networking technology. Continuous skill up-gradation helps the students to face the placement interview. Students are exposed for pre placement training on quantitative aptitude, logical Reasoning and in group discussion mock interview in the pre final year.
Apart from the class room training, the students are taken on Industrial visit to different leading Industry in the state. REC students visited NALCO Angul, Paradeep Phosphate Ltd., Arati Steel, Nayagarh Sugar, Odissa Power Transmission greed. Students are also helped to undertake training in different industry matching the course curriculum for skill up - gradation. Thus training is a continuous process. The training inputs increases the competent level of the students so that they are able to steer through the competitive examination organized by the different companies for selecting right type of persons.
The college engages expert training house in the country for competency mapping and assessing the gap between the existence skill and required skill. Training need is trailerd based on the assessment result. The students are also given information of the deficiencies and counseled on right approach for their self improvement and development.

Apart from the training by external resource persons the College also provided opportunity to the students for self learning and development. The different societies like ISTE chapter, the CSL, NIPM, NHRD Network organize regular talk by external resources on the contemporary technological development. Students are also encouraged to participate in this deliberation and present their papers before different forums.

There is on I2I cell functioning in the college which students in interaction with Industry. Apart from Industrial visit of students Industrial professional are Invited for Interaction with the students on industrial working systems. The Industrial visit and interaction with the students by industrial professional coupled with training sharpens student skill so that the students get mileage at the time of placement interview.

The college has a fully dedicated placement cell headed by a Director and three professional placement executives. These executives keep on scouting employment potential and opportunity in different software and Core industry. The college authorities interact with different industrial Organization and they are invited to visit the campus for on campus drive.
Placement is organized through on campus and off campus drive, 2006-2010 batch students have been exposed 23 number of companies for on - campus selection. The candidates who have been selected by different companies are listed below. Apart from on campus, off campus placement support is also extended to the students so that placement coverage of students is wider. The college has committed to provide placement support to all the students in such manner that at least each students is exposed to minimum 20 on campus drives and 20 off campus drives. The college also took up with Indian Army for organizing SSB the selection inside campus from 2006-2010 batch 10 numbers of students have been shortlisted in the drive organized by Indian Army out of which 2 have got through the final selection. The college is proud of them. The college is extending placement support to the students while in the campus and out of campus. If some of students could not secure employment during the studentship in the final year, we also provide support after the completion of the examination. This process continuous till they finally pass out and move from the campus.
